Thinking of the Bees with the Bee Friendly Trust
I’m delighted to announce that I have partnered up with the Bee Friendly Trust. 10% from every purchase of the dandelion collection will be donated to the Bee Friendly Trust.
The Bee Friendly Trust started in 2016 with flower planters in a train station in Putney. They now have lots of different train stations involved, with volunteers helping plant up these small areas, bringing flowers back for bees in what would normally be an urban environment.
After converting many train stations, they have expanded to support community projects across the UK adding unique planters to unusual places, showing groups how to look after their flowers and bees in their area. To find out more about the Bee Friendly Trust click here.
To celebrate our partnership and to help with the wildlife in the garden, I have started to share little packets of seeds that you can sprinkle in a little bare patch of soil of your garden, bringing you a small patch of wild flowers. I have 100 packets of these seeds to share with you and every purchase will include a packet of these seeds for you to grow at home.
The seeds are a special mix of British Wildflower Seeds which are a perfect mix of wildflowers for all different types of Bees and other pollinators like hoverflies, moths, and butterflies. This wildflower mix has been created by the British Wildflower Meadow Seed Company that has discovered that the UK solitary bees and bumblebees prefer British Wildflower species. The packets of seeds will cover between ½ to 1 square metre and contains a mix of the following wildflowers species and no grasses:
